MultiVersus returned from its huge time off with a big new update, leaving beta and fully releasing as a game. That doesn’t mean it’s over though. This is just the start of MultiVersus patch notes and updates. With the game now fully released, we can expect these to start rolling in regularly.

If you want to stay on top of all of the changes and developments in the game, MultiVersus patch notes are a key source to look at. How characters are altered will affect how you play them pretty heavily. Off the back of the game’s new season, there are already a few characters that could really use a re-balance. Not to mention bugs like the Power Within MultiVersus badge. These are the changes so far in the MultiVersus patch notes that we’ve seen:

Balancing Changes

Those are most of the new additions, but there have been some broad MultiVersus Season 2 Patch Notes for balancing. These are changed which could re-order MultiVersus tier lists for this season.

One big change that’s come is to try and make the gam reward aggression more. These are some changes these made to this end with the entire cast:

Momentum will carry through consistently, to make jumping in easier
Changes to ice and Stop Camping debuff
You’ll slide down walls faster
Bounce knockback standardized from terrain

Agent Smith Joins MultiVersus Roster

The latest character available in MutiVersus is going to be Agent Smith. He hasn’t quite been released yet though. The character will be available early through the Beat Rifts Get Agent Smith event. However, outside of that you can purchase the character starting on July 23rd.

Free for All

A new mode has been added with the MultiVersus patch notes. This is Free for All. It’s a battle with up to four players each for themselves. These are fun chaotic modes that we see in quite a few of the top fighting games.

Comulons
The Court 2
Dexter’s Laboratory 1
Throne Room
Townsville
Tree Fort

MultiVersus Hotfix

Another new MultiVersus patch is here! Although, this time it’s more of a hotfix than a dedicated patch. These are smaller little fixes that just try to sort out a specific problem in game, not a full rebalance of how everything works.

The MultiVersus patch notes for the hot fix include a few changes for characters. The big change is improvements to connectivity. Players on console will be able to connect for online matches with fewer problems.

There are other changes to characters in here too though. Banana Guard has had bug fixes, Harley Quinn and Rick have both had their emote bugs sorted. Iron Giant has had more actual changes, with his Ground Side Special getting nerfed quite a bit. Shaggy has also had his air neutral changed, and Reindog’s side attack.

It’s our third weekly patch in a row here. This is a smaller one, but these little changes and fixes to characters should help correct some of the problems with the game right now.

Patch 1.02 MultiVersus Update

Another new MultiVersus patch is here! Player First Games has been delivering these updates really frequently since the game returned. What exactly has been changed inside the title though?

The big change with the MultiVersus new update is performance improvements rather than balancing changes. However, there have also been some alterations to how fighters perform. These are the biggest changes:

General Changes

15-frame repeat move lockout on ground side attack combo added to all characters. This prevents chaining multiple moves and hitstun.

Camera distance changed in 1v1
Profile Icons, Badges, Ringouts, and Announcer Packs are all now in the Account Cosmetics of the Fighters tab.
Bug Fixes – Problems with desyncs, performance on Xbox, and parries have been fixed

Perks

A few alterations have been made to the in-game perks, specifically the Air Walker perk. This has had bug fixes and is limited to being used once per airtime.

Character Changes

Alongside those general changes, there are some more slight moves to the character’s individual balance. These are the changes in the MultiVersus patch notes.

MultiVersus Full Release Patch Notes

MultiVersus returned in late May, did we get full patch notes for this change? The developers decided not to release full patch notes for the game when it came back.

There are differing opinions on this, but from some perspectives, it does make sense. MultiVersus received major changes when coming back. It left early access and was fully released. Most games don’t get patch notes for their initial release, just updates from there.

On the other hand, some characters are still pretty similar like Batman in MultiVersus. The overall pace of games has gotten slower though, which will likely effect how everyone plays even with the similarities. The lack of patch notes for the game coming back is just something players will have to deal with. However, we’ll likely continue to get full MultiVersus patch notes for these future updates.
