One thing that is clear in the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024 is how tough the competition has gotten on the international stage. However, Yoodo Alliance beat the competition to become the first team to get back-to-back chicken dinners on Day 2 of the PMWC 2024 Group Stage.
Yoodo Alliance aren’t the most decorated PUBG Mobile esports roster – and have never won a regional or international trophy. However, they have been in an uptick of performance in 2024, placing fourth in the spring season of the Super League (PMSL) SEA and third in the summer season. Today’s performance will undoubtedly be a huge morale boost for the team and Malaysian fans will be hoping to see them carry this momentum into the PMWC 2024.
Yoodo Alliance get two back-to-back chicken dinners to top the table after day 2
Notably, both of Yoodo’s victories came on Erangel, although, their nature was very different. The first came on Map 9, where the team found themselves as the favorites to take the match on the back of some favorable rotations and zone shifts. As a result, all four members of the team were alive going into the final few circles.
Ultimately, they found themselves up against two members from Falcons Esports. However, instead of taking advantage of their numbers and pushing them down, the team held their ground patiently. This strategy paid off as they were able to pick the two players quietly and take the map.
On Map 10, it was a completely different affair. In the end, all members, except for LeonDZ were taken out. Luckily, LeonDZ found himself in a 1v1v1 against players from Falcons and IHC. He had the advantage as well because LeonDZ was tucked behind a rock on top of a hill, having the high ground with a view of his enemies. Despite a barrage of grenades – one of which left him with just a little HP – the player was able to take the chicken dinner single-handedly.
With this performance, coupled with their consistency throughout the group stage so far, Yoodo are on top of the standings table.
PMWC Group Stage Day 2 Overall Standings
