PUBG Mobile 3.8 Update is set to release globally next month. The highlight of this update is the Steampunk Frontier mode, a brand-new themed experience in collaboration with Attack on Titan that brings a Titan (monsters) twist to the game with massive trains, clockwork puzzles, and unique traversal mechanics.

PUBG Mobile Update 3.8 Release Date & Regional Rollout
The update follows PUBG Mobile’s usual ~60-day patch cycle and will be available worldwide starting May 6. Indian players typically receive it in BGMI a few days later due to region-specific testing and approvals, with many expected to get the update between May 9-12.
Steampunk Frontier Mode
Steampunk Frontier is a fresh limited-time mode set in Erangel. It introduces new locations, traversal methods, and loot systems.
- Aetherholm: A central train station hub with elevators, hidden clock towers, and recreational zones.
- Cargo Hub: A dual-zone location that serves as a connecting station for multiple train routes.
- Hot Air Balloons & Rollercoaster Checkpoints: Positioned around major landmarks, these allow for faster movement and aerial play.

Train-Based Gameplay
This mode features two special trains:
- Epoch Cargo Train: A larger train that stops at Aetherholm stations. It carries a Steam Supply Crate in the driver’s cab that refills automatically at each stop.
- Express Train: A smaller train that loops continuously around the map, stopping briefly at Cargo Hubs where players can solve clockwork puzzles to access Mechanical Caches with valuable loot.

New Mechanics & Features
- NPC Traders & Puzzles: Players can interact with Clockwork Attendants and Merchants at various points. At Spawn Island, multi-lever crate puzzles give access to high-tier loot, which can be exchanged with NPCs for items like health drinks.
- Broadcast Announcements: A real-time system keeps players updated about important events such as train arrivals, zone changes, and loot drops.
- Grappling Hooks & Giant Serum: The grappling hook enables fast vertical and horizontal movement. The Giant Transformation Serum temporarily turns players into massive units with enhanced health, mobility, and melee strength.
PUBG Mobile Update 3.8: Classic Mode Enhancements
- Motorcycle Shooting: Players riding as passengers can now shoot one-handed while on the move.
- Self-Revive AED Kits: If a knocked player doesn’t have an AED kit, they can now pick one up from a downed teammate to self-revive.
- UI/UX Improvements: The inventory system, training ground interface, and map markers have been optimized for a smoother experience.
