Fortnite has a big new update, a Pirates of the Caribbean collab. There are new items in-game which is always fun. However, the big part of the collab is the cosmetics. There are new skins in the item shop. As has become common in Chapter 5 though, there’s also an event pass. Is the Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass worth it?

A lot of players go for the Battle Pass each and every season. Its one-time offer FOMO-inducing design helps to keep most of the Fortnite player base on this premium tier. However, since these Passes pay for the next one, they’re generally a pretty good deal. What about the event passes though? These are a little different and they’re definitely not the same value for players.

Is the Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass Worth Picking Up?

The Fortnite Cursed Sail Pass is the new event pass for Chapter 5 Season 3. It’s not the essential purchase of a Battle Pass though. With its clearly different value but similar price to the standard Battle pass, this might not be quite so attractive to everyone.

The Fortnite Battle Pass has a few key features in offering players value. You get a load of skins, other items, and more for nearly 1,000 V-Bucks. You also get a refund on those refunds provided you play. The Cursed Sails pass though only offers one skin. Sure, there are also other items in there and some level-ups on the free tier. However, it’s hard to avoid that this is not much content when put alongside the Battle Pass.

In that case, it might not seem like a great deal. However, despite the Pass name we shouldn’t really be comprising it to the Battle Pass. The Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass is actually closer to an item shop bundle.

Compared to purchasing a Fortnite collab skin in the Item Shop, this is a significantly better deal. Right now, the Pirates skins in the store are listed at 1,500 to 1,600 V-Bucks. The Jack Sparrow Pass is only 1,000 V-bucks, and you get more items.

Is It a Good Deal?

Ultimate if you should get the Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass comes down to if you want Jack or not. It’s best to view it as a way to purchase a skin, not a Pass on the level of the Battle Pass. The real downside is you’ll need to complete quests to get the entire pack.

Since the skin does come at a good discount from the Item Shop, it still feels worth it to go through the Pass. Ultimately, if it’s worth it just depends on if you want a Jack Sparrow skin. If you do, then you probably won’t mind grinding through the Pass either. If you’re not interested in the franchise though, it might be safe to skip this pack and just wait for the next Battle Pass.
