The BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 have come to an end, with six teams now locked in for the Fall Finals in Copenhagen next month. We’ve got the full recap on the last few days of competitive CS2 action, to see who looked sharp and who fell short.

Liquid, G2, Vitality, and Spirit top the Groups

At the top of each group at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, sat Liquid, G2, Vitality, and Spirit. Each of these teams looked extremely comfortable throughout the event, progressing without losing a single map. For Liquid, this was their first outing with Twistzz as IGL, and he looked like a natural in the role. Things will get tougher as teams get demos of how he likes to play, but this was a solid start. G2 showed their start with malbsMd and Snax is something more than a honeymoon phase now, proving they can contend at the very top.

Vitality had to take down a tough Astralis twice to reach the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2024, with ZywOo playing the starring role to get them over the finish line. However, we saw improved performances all around for Vitality – a strong sign for a team with mixed results lately. Finally, there’s Spirit, which predictably was the donk and sh1ro show once again. We know what to expect from this roster at this point, and the BLAST Premier Spring Final winners now have the chance to repeat the feat in the fall.

Cloud9 and FaZe Clan flop

It was another disappointing outing for FaZe Clan, with their form now well and truly in the gutter. Nothing underlined this more than their first series loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas in three years, with only frozen showing anything resembling positive form. How does FaZe Clan get out of this rut? We don’t know. But if they continue to underperform at IEM Cologne 2024, we might even see roster changes on the horizon for FaZe.

Another team less than pleased in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups is Cloud9. In their first showing as a new roster, Cloud9 were defeated twice in a row, sending them straight down to the Fall Showdown this month. If there are any positives for Cloud9 to take, it’s that new signings ICY and HeavyGod looked solid on their debuts. There’s some potential here – they just need more time to realize it.

Astralis and NAVI secure last two places

Admittedly, we were a little surprised to see NAVI struggling to make it through to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2024. However, they found themselves in contention against Complexity for the last spot, a challenge they overcame with ease. A big positive for NAVI is the form of iM, who finally looks like he truly belongs on the roster. If he keeps this going into Cologne, NAVI will definitely threaten any team.

Last but not least, is Astralis, who had to beat a resurgent NIP to the other final spot available to the Fall Finals. They have faced some trouble of late, with star riflers Staehr, stavn, and jabbi looking shaky at times. While this tournament wasn’t a perfect showing, they got the job done, but as always, the success of this Astralis team will be dependent on their ability to just find some consistency on the server.
