The Skyesports Championship 2024, the CS2 LAN currently taking place in Mumbai, India, has been marred by a slew of technical issues across the board, as well as poor facilities for the players to use. Read on to find out how the event issues have unfolded so far.

Skyesports Championship 2024 tech issues and facilities

Two matches are currently in progress at the Skyesports Championship 2024, with both being stopped mid-game due to technical issues. Both the electricity and the internet went out at the hotel where the players are competing, putting a halt to the entire event. While both matches were restarted, they quickly went back offline, and it would be a couple of hours before play could be restarted a final time.

Several players at the event have also reported having different PCs from one another, which can impact the competitive integrity of a match. The fact that map vetoes are being done via a phone call is another issue entirely, but it’s safe to say that this isn’t the norm for Tier 1 CS2 tournaments.

Perhaps more egregious is the facilities that the players have been given to play in. While the Playoffs of the Skyesports Championship 2024 will be held on LAN, the Group Stages are online, with players having to compete from their hotel room. Eternal Fire’s XANTARES had this to say on the ongoing situation:

“I have never seen such a bad tournament in my life, the PCs are extremely bad, there were nails on the tables, now the electricity goes out first, then the internet goes out, it’s a disgrace.”

At the moment, XANTARES is the only player reporting nails on the tables of the PCs they’re using. However, videos other players have taken from the event certainly don’t paint a pretty picture of the situation.

He’s not the only Eternal Fire player to comment so far, with MAJ3R also sharing his thoughts on the situation:

In the interest of balance, BLEED coach kassad mentioned upon arrival that “Hotel, hospitality and internet are up there with all Tier1 events,” although this was prior to seeing his team’s PC setups. Given kassad’s transparency, if there were any PC issues for BLEED at the Skyesports Championship 2024, we would already know about it.

Hopefully, the Skyesports Championship 2024 issues can be sorted for the rest of the event. With a $300,000 prize pool and teams like, ENCE, Eternal Fire, and The MongolZ in attendance, it has the potential to be a great event. Let’s hope it’s merely growing pains for the tournament organizer.
