Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is one of the most anticipated games cosy of 2025, partly because it was originally one of the most anticipated releases of 2024. At long last, this game may finally come out and give fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings another foray into Middle Earth. After the disaster that was Gollum, the video game world is yearning for another LotR game.

Tales of the Shire Release Date
Right now, Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is set to be released on July 29, 2025. This is after numerous delays, so it’s perhaps best to take this date with a grain of salt. It was at one point supposed to be out on March 25, but that’s not happening anymore. It was also initially tabbed as a 2024 release , but that window came and went. Fans of the franchise and of casual, simulation, RPG-type games will have to wait until this summer (unless there’s yet another delay).
Platforms
Once the video game is released, it’s expected to be widely available, including on PC via Steam. It will of course be on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series should sell well as a result.

Tales of the Shire is listed as a game with quite a few genres. It’s an RPG, life simulation, adventure, and casual game. It might also be considered a bit of a cozy game as well. It’s very multi-faceted. It’s got an art style that lends itself to that cozy genre as well. Gamers will get the chance to live as a Hobbit. They can create a player and find, decorate, and live in a Hobbit hole in the Shire just like Frodo and Bilbo Baggins.
It will also allow gamers to help the Shire flourish almost like a city simulator or something like Two Point Museum . You can decorate, fish, forage, and trade with the NPC townsfolk. The game seems poised to totally ignore the danger and treachery of the rest of Middle Earth. Most likely, you won’t need to go on a quest or fight off evil enemies. There doesn’t seem to be much combat of any kind in Tales of the Shire.
