Can Karmine Corp make the miracle happen against Team BDS and continue their run in the LEC summer playoffs? Here is what you can expect in our preview.
Karmine Corp vs Team BDS – one last spurt?
With their combined results over the three splits, Team BDS have already earned their spot in the LEC Season Finals that will decide two of three slots for Worlds 2024. While this should make them less stressful going into the series, winning the summer split would still mean a lot since it allows them to be the LEC’s first seed.
Karmine Corp, on the other hand, are still fighting to turn around their disastrous first half of the season: they would need at least a second place finish to keep their season finals hope alive. Anything lower than that would automatically eliminate them from contention.
With such high stakes for the French squad, what are chances of them taking down one of the most consistent teams in the LEC? Find out in our series breakdown.
Match breakdown
In the last two years, Team BDS has been known for perfecting their own particular identity and sticking to it. A conservative yet well-composed approach allows them to slowly gain control of the map through objective controls and well-prepared teamfights. Their main downside, however, is when they get countered early on: Sheo struggles to fight from behind and the team looks generally lost whenever they fall heavily in gold.
Karmine Corp, on the other hand, are consistently relying on their late-game power to turn their games around. Whether it’s Upset or Canna now that top lane carries are in the meta, KC need time to get “online”. They would often fall behind at the 15-minute mark, and slowly crawl their way back into a leading position with the natural identity of their team compositions.
Based on what the two have shown so far, Team BDS is still the favorite coming into this series. They have generally looked stronger and more consistent than their counterpart, and a strong early game by Team BDS will immediately give them a chance to close out the games before KC can fight back.
That said, there is always a slim chance for Kameto’s squad, especially now that they proved over and over again they are slowly getting the hang of how they should play. I doubt this series will be as one-sided as some might expect, which is why I think BDS will sweat hard to get this win.
