Despite the anticipation and expectations on OG and Nigma Galaxy to show results both teams have fallen short at PGL Wallachia Season 3 with early eliminations.

Both OG and Nigma Galaxy fumbled horribly at PGL Wallachia S3 despite the expectations on them. Particularly, OG, which recently announced the return of Sébastien “Ceb” Debs’ leadership and a new roster.

Recap of PGL Wallachia S3

PGL Wallachia S3’s single modified swiss-system as their group stage format was brutal to the teams that weren’t at their best shape. Since by the end of group stage, eight teams would be eliminated, OG and Nigma didn’t make the cut due to their underwhelming performances.

OG’s three matches were up against Team Spirit, Wildcard, and Yellow Submarine. The match versus Team Spirit was a clean sweep, considering who they are up against. Team Spirit placed top seed in the groups, which is a legacy of how successful they are now after a reform. Yet, even up against Wildcard and Yellow Submarine, team OG just could not secure any series. Sure, they were close, but it ultimately did not matter in a best-of-three format.

Although Nigma faced off against formidable teams themselves, notably Team Falcons and Xtreme Gaming, they managed to win a series against Natus Vincere, which certainly puts them a level (slightly) better than OG.

What happened to OG and Nigma Galaxy at PGL Wallachia S3?

Regardless, it’s not a good look for these former powerhouses that were once held with high regards. In fact, there should be no excuse for OG to flop so badly, given their current Dota 2 roster of high-profile players. They have the young Thai prodigy, Nuengnara ” 23savage ” Teeramahanon as their hard carry, a TI Champion, Leon “Nine” Kirilin, and Yap “xNova” Jian Wei on top of Ceb. It’s clear that this line-up is struggling to play together as a team, but worse yet is the drafts, which looked absurd.

As for Nigma, they certainly put up a better fight than OG, so they definitely don’t deserve as much criticism. For instance, they were able to give Xtreme Gaming a run for their money, considering how their games were just constant fights back-and-forth.

As an OG fan, the situation is looking dire for OG if they keep up such a poor performance. It just seems like OG is struggling to coordinate and trying to put up unusual drafts instead of sticking to the current meta at PGL Wallachia S3 .
