Tekken 8 has been the biggest fighter of the year so far. We’ve already seen the first big addition, Eddy, released. However, most major fighters these days get quite a bit of support after they launch. We’re expecting a full slate of Tekken 8 DLC characters over the first year of the game. So far, these fighters have been a tightly kept secret. The second has now been confirmed. However, we’ve also seen some leaks about what might be coming after.

The Tekken 8 DLC characters might have been revealed by some data in the latest Tekken patch notes. Data miners frequently delve below the surface in games, to find upcoming and planned content. References in the files might have even revealed what the next characters coming to the game are.

What new faces can we expect to join the Tekken 8 roster in the near future? And when do the characters announced already make their way to the game?

Who’s the Next DLC Character?

The next Tekken 8 DLC character has been revealed. It’s going to be Lidia Sobieska. A fighter who has been a part of the franchise before. They were first added back in Tekken 7, as a new Tekken female character.

Lidia was a DLC addition last time around too. It’s great to see her fleshing out the roster for 8 though. When will the next DLC character Tekken 8 release in the game in full though?

When Will Lidia Be Released in Tekken 8?

Eddy is a pretty recent addition to the Tekken 8 DLC characters roster. However, Lidia might be arriving sooner than we think. The character has been confirmed for Summer 2024. We don’t know the exact month, but recent developments point towards them coming sooner.

Some players estimated they’ll be arriving on July 26th, which didn’t happen. However, at this point, we’re looking at Lidia releasing in August. It could be any patch now though!

What Comes Next?

That’s our second fighter for Tekken 8. The first, was of course, Eddy. What next though? There are more fighters planned for the title, originally revealed to be coming in the remaining two seasons back when Eddy was released.

In terms of release dates, we do know a little more though. Each of the Season 1 characters so far has come seasonally. We got Eddy for Spring, Lidia for summer, and we have two more in Year 1. This will likely mean we can expect them to be released in Autumn and Winter. Although, it’s often towards the end of the season that they actually arrive.

We’ll probably get confirmation of what’s next within the next few weeks. As we’re pretty close to Lidia’s release date, the third Tekken DLC characters should be in the works now! Although, we’re still waiting for Bandai fighting game news to announce their exact date.

We don’t have any fighters confirmed for the upcoming characters. However, there have been some Tekken 8 DLC characters leaked.

Tekken 8 DLC Characters Found by Data Miner

A dataminer before Lidia was revealed claimed to have found quite a few future characters coming to the game. Notably, they predicted that next up, in Summer 2024, would be Lidia Sobieska from Tekken 7. Which turned out to be right.

The next is Fakhumram and the final is supposed to be Craig Marduk. This would wrap up the season 1 Tekken 8 DLC characters. These leaks are coming from players delving into the files of the game. They seem fairly substantiated. Especially now that the game has confirmed part of this with Lidia being the second character. Plans could change, but these appear to be in the works.

While it isn’t quite confirmed, this could be our first batch DLC line up for Tekken 8. There’s definitely a lot to look forward to over the coming year, between regular DLC and the Tekken World Tour returning soon.

Will There Be a Tekken 8 Year 2 DLC Character?

That’s year one. Given that we don’t even know everything about this year yet, should we have any expectations about the future? Well, fans are probably going to start looking at Tekken 8 DLC Season 2 as soon as we get our final character for year one announced.

We don’t have confirmation of anything beyond that first year, but it’s almost certainly happening. Tekken 8 player numbers are strong, along with SF 6 it’s been part of a massive expansion in fighting game players. The DLC seems pretty popular too. Given that less well-received Tekken installments received more support, it’s a pretty safe bet that we’re getting more Tekken 8 DLC characters in the future.

We’ll likely expect to hear about Tekken 8 DLC Season 2 further down the road. It’s safe to assume more is coming in the future though, barring any crazy developments over the next 6 months.
