Are you looking for something a little different? Then look no than the Precinct! A top-down action adventure shooter set in the 1980s, where players will follow the roles of the police, cracking down on further crime and cleaning up the city! The twist is, instead of following the lives of a criminal, like Grand Theft Auto, you’re going to be the police, which is something players haven’t had the opportunity to do much over the years.
The Sandbox experience should entice players to give this game a go, because this game definitely takes inspiration from some of the original Grand Theft Auto titles that were released back in the day. And with players being on the right side of the law this time, it offers a unique experience that we haven’t seen before! If this sounds like the game for you, then stay tuned as we walk you through The Precinct release date, including details on the game, an epic trailer, the platforms you can play the game on, and more.

The Precinct Release Date
If you were wondering that you would have to wait a while for this game to hit the shelves, don’t worry! You’re in luck, as The Precinct is just around the corner. The Precinct release date is May 13, meaning it’s just under two weeks away. If you want to get in on the action early, then you can, as on the Steam landing page, you can now download the Precinct demo to get a teaser for what you’re going to be getting when the full game releases. At the time of writing this article, there are no plans for the game to be released through early access. For now, you’ll just have to keep playing the demo before the game releases in full on May 13.
What about the platforms?
Despite being considered more of an indie game, The Precinct will be releasing on all of the major platforms! Unfortunately for the players who are on th older generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, they’re going to have to upgrade if they want to play this game, though we don’t think this would be the type of game that tips players over the edge in terms of upgrading to a newer generation of console. Although this is a top-down game, the developers have put all of their resources into ensuring that the game is the best it can be on the latest hardware. The last thing you would want is the game not being optimized properly on the PC, for example.
With all of that being said, let’s take a look at the platforms you can play this game on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series S
- Xbox Series X
What are the details?
As mentioned above, this is a top-down action adventure again that takes a lot of inspiration from some of the earlier GTA titles that also had top-down gameplay. The sandbox capabilities in this game are untold as you live the life of a police officer, patrolling the streets and fighting petty crime while also playing through the main storyline. This is an experience like no other, offering unique interactions while ensuring the streets remain clean. If this sounds like the perfect game, then check out this epic trailer, you just showing about what the game is.
