Celebrate the glorious rebirth of Final Fantasy XIV as The Rising event returns to FFXIV for 2024. Announced on Tuesday, August 20 across social media, the second seasonal event of FFXIV Dawntrail is landing just one day after the Moonfire Faire.
From Tuesday, August 27, at 8:00am GMT (1:00am PDT), until Wednesday, 11 September 2024, The Rising will return giving players the chance to talk to The Wandering Minstrel, the self-insert character of Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida, FFXIV’s director and lead producer.

This year’s event will see you meet up with the minstrel in Limsa Lominsa as the Wandering Minstrel puts the finished touches to this year’s Rising celebrations. An in-universe celebration of rebirth as well as just one for the launch of ARR, The Rising is filled with fireworks, and thoughts about new beginnings.
Additionally, players will find themselves in possession of a new Krile minion, and Rising-themed table top lamp for their Player Housing.

But as always, the biggest attraction will be the chance to have your character have an in-game chat with Yoshi-P. Each Rising, the director’s avatar joins the player in a vision, giving cryptic messages towards the future of the game, and thanking you for playing FFXIV. It’s a nice touch that’s becoming a core part of this part of the FFXIV cycle.
This year, the Rising will likely focus on elements around Dawntrail, FFXIV’s latest expansion. After some dramatic turns and story beats, it feels good to be back in the rhythm of post-expansion content with FFXIV.
