VALORANT Champions 2024 is slated to start on August 1. The final international tournament for the season will be held in Seoul, Korea, with the top 16 teams from all four VCT Leagues participating. Here are our power rankings and predictions ahead of the start!

VALORANT Champions 2024 Power Ranking

1. Gen.G

The first team on our list is none other than the winners of VCT Masters Shanghai. Gen G. The Golden Tigers have been on quite a run of form this season with the likes of t3xture, Karon Meteor, and the veteran in Lakia. This season, they have won the VCT Pacific Kickoff event & VCT Masters Shanghai. They finished as runner-ups during VCT Pacific Stage One and VCT Masters Madrid. Going into VALORANT Champions 2024, they are the favorites to win the event and perhaps be the first VCT Pacific team to win a Champions trophy.

2. FNATIC

The next team on our list is none other than FNATIC. At one point last season, it was one of the best teams in the world and they looked good heading into VCT Tokyo. FNATIC has been on a slow and steady journey to get back on top. During VCT EMEA Stage 2, they were on an unbeaten run to the Grand Finale of the event. Having already won VCT EMEA Stage One, it’s only a matter of time before we see the kings of EMEA try their luck and secure the VALORANT Champions trophy.

3. Paper Rex

The founders of the W Gaming playstyle, Paper Rex, haven’t had the best season this year. During each VALORANT event this year, they have finished in the top 5. During VCT Pacific Stage 2, the team finished 3rd due to losing in an incredible lower bracket final vs. DRX.

During VCT Pacific Stage 2, Something and Jinggg proved why they are two of the best duelists in the world. On the other hand, f0rsakeN has proved this year why he is the best flex player in the world. It will only be time for Paper Rex to pull up their socks and make an incredible run during VALORANT Champions 2024.

4. Team Heretics

The next team on our list is none other than the runner-ups of VCT Masters Madrid, Team Heretics. One of the best-performing teams worldwide, this team with young guns has been incredible to watch. The lethal duo of brothers Boo and Miniboo have proved why they are players that cannot be forgotten, or pas shed aside.

A point to note is that this team also has the likes of Wo0t, who was incredible in their run to the grand Finale in VCT Masters Shanghai. Since that event, they have had a slight dip in performance, finishing third in VCT EMEA Stage 2. With Miniboo finally back in the lineup, only time will tell if Team Heretics can make a deep run in VALORANT Champions 2024.

5. G2 Esports

G2 Esports have genuinely been the dark horse of this season. One must note that they are the team that secured a spot with VCT Americas through Ascension. Since then, this season has been quite a success for G2 Esports. During VCT Americas Kickoff, they finished 5th place and missed out on qualification for VCT Masters Madrid. During VCT Americas Stage One, they finished 2nd place, securing their spot for VCT Masters Shanghai. From the group stage, the team knocked out the favorites in Paper Rex to secure the 3rd spot in the event.

They continued their run of form during VCT Americas Stage 2. They went undefeated until the grand finals, where they faced off against Leviatan. They came short and finished second. During VALORANT Champions, we can expect them to finish at a higher spot if they get past the group stage.

6. Leviatán

One team who has come through at the blitzing pace of a storm is none other than Leviatan. This team has been one of the most consistent in the VCT Americas region. With the return of Aspas back to form, the team has been able to push up the ranks. During VCT Americas Stage Two, they defeated G2 to be the winners of the event. Last time, during VCT Masters Shanghai, the team couldn’t perform at their best. This time, with momentum on their side and having the likes of 2 former VALORANT Champions in Aspas and C0M, it will be interesting to see where this team finishes.

7. DRX

If any team should have the term reborn or resurrection associated with them during this season of the VALORANT Champions Tour, it has to be DRX. This South Korean organization has been on a slow and steady rise within VALORANT Esports. Following the change of multiple players from their initial roster, DRX’s goal was VALORANT Champions.

During each VCT Pacific event this season, they finished in the top 4. DRX missed out on qualification for both VCT Masters events by one position. During VCT Pacific Stage T, they made sure to have control of their destiny. During the Lower Bracket Finals, they faced off against their oldest rival in Paper Rex. In an incredible reverse sweep, they defeated their rivals with a score of 3-2. This result secured the second VCT Pacific Grand Final for DRX in 2 years. Sadly, history repeated itself, and DRX lost on the final hurdle to Gen G. One player to note is none other than the rookie in Flashback, who has been an incredible flex for his team.

8. Sentinels

Can Sentinels bring back their VCT Madrid form during the VALORANT Champion? The team was immaculate at the start of the year, winning the VCT Americas Kickoff tournament. They followed this successful run in form by securing the trophy in an incredible Grand vs. Gen G during VCT Masters Madrid.

Since then, their performance has been relatively low. During the VCT Americas Stage One, the team finished in 7th position. During VCT Americas Stage two, they finished in 5th place, getting knocked out during the playoffs phase of the event. It looks like the team has a long way to go with their form. It does look like Sentinels can get their momentum back in form in time for VALORANT Champions and try to become the first organization to win both a VCT Masters and VALORANT Champions trophy.

9. EDward Gaming

@Riot Games

EDward Gaming has been the best team in VCT China this season. During the grand final of VCT CN Stage 2, the players’ banter excited fans to see how well this team could perform. Within the VCT CN region, EDward Gaming is the best team from the event. They currently have the highest Championship points compared to any team in the four VCT regions.

But following their performances at both VCT Masters Madrid and VCT Masters Shanghai, the same cannot be said on the international stage. Due to this, they are placed in the 9th position on our tier list. Will this team, including Nobody, Smoogy, and ZmjjKK, fill their shoes and prove they shouldn’t be forgotten about? Only time will tell.

10. FUT Esports

FUT Esports is one of the few teams within the 4 VCT Leagues with a roster exclusively from their country. The team’s new roster was announced before VALORANT Convergence, and many were excited to see Cned return to the top. While their run during VCT EMEA Kickoff wasn’t the best, the team picked up steam during VCT EMEA Stage One. They had a stellar performance, finishing in third place and securing a spot for VCT Masters Shanghai.

On their run to the top, the team made it through to the event’s playoffs. They dominantly eliminated FNATIC but lost to eventual finalist Team Heretics in the lower bracket. During VCT EMEA Stage 2, they kept their focus on qualification for VALORANT Champions and did so by finishing 4th. With the likes of cNed and AtaKaptan, it will be interesting to see where this team from Turkey finish at the event.

11. FunPlus Phoenix

One of the teams that won my heart during VCT Masters Shanghai was FunPlus Phoenix. This team has been a breath of fresh air since it arrived at international events. This year, it is one of the few teams qualified for global events this season. Within the VCT CN League, it has proved that it is the second-best team within the region.

During VCT Masters Shanghai, they were among the few teams with a unique playstyle. They were not shy about taking risks and testing our new and unique agent comps. They became the first team to use the agent Clove during any of the 4 VCT Leagues and VCT Masters Shanghai.

12. Team Vitality

Seeing Team Vitality’s name among the 16 teams participating in VALORANT Champions 2024 was a surprise. This is the first international event that this team will be participating in. The last time we saw this organization play at an event not based in Europe was VALORANT Convergence in 2023. It does look like Sayf has gotten back in form, having had an incredible performance against Team Heretics during VCT EMEA Stage 2.

13 Talon Esports

Talon Esports, a Thai organization, qualified for its first-ever international event in an incredible turn of events. This was due to their astonishing run during VCT Pacific Stage Two. During the VCT Pacific Kickoff, they finished in 7th position. They improved their performance during VCT Pacific Stage One, finishing in 5th position.

During VCT Stage Two, they signed Primmie to their roster, which worked wonders for the team. Due to his incredible performance in his debut match, they could qualify for VALORANT Champions 2024. Compared to the other teams within their region, Talon Esports is considered the weakest, but only time will tell how well they can perform during the event.

14. KRÜ Esports

Krü Esports

If there is one team that is the ultimate dark horse during a VCT international event, it is KRU Esports. Last year, during the VCT Americas LCQ, they made an incredible run to the top to become the fourth team from the league to qualify for the event.

This year, they did something similar during VCT Americas Stage Two. During this event, they finished in third place, securing their spot for VALORANT Champions 2024. Last year, this team finished in 13th position, and it won’t be wrong to predict that they might perform similarly this season.

15. Trace Esports

During the VCT, China Stage Two Trace Esports provided quite a turnaround in form. This will be the first international tournament in which this organization will participate. They made a deep run during Stage 2 of the game, finishing third. They have one of the lowest probabilities of making it to the playoffs of VALORANT Champions 2024.

16. Bilibili Gaming

The last team on our list is Bilibili Gaming. This will be the second VALORANT Champions tournament they will participate in. Their season in VCT China hasn’t been ideal. During VCT China Kickoff, they finished second place in the play-ins, and in VCT China Stage Two, they finished 7th. In Stage Two, they could turn their fortunes around; they finished 4th during the event, ensuring they had enough Championship points to make it into VALORANT Champions 2024.
