The announcement of VALORANT Console was received quite positively within the community. Initially, the game was released in closed beta, but that has changed now. On July 26, Riot Games announced that the beta was officially open. Let’s look at what this means for the VALORANT Console and which regions the open beta will be available in.
VALORANT Console Open Beta Is Live But In Certain Regions
VALORANT Console Limited Beta went live on June 11 for specific regions like Europe and North America. During this phase, Riot Games announced various features exclusive to the console variant of the game. The game was launched for Xbox Series X|S and the PS5. Following the launch of the limited beta, there was quite a positive response from the VALORANT community and the general FPS console fan base.
On July 26, Riot Games announced the open VALORANT beta. If players wish to play the game, they don’t need a limited beta key. Instead, they can download it directly from their respective console’s app store. Below are certain things that are shared between the PC and the console version of the game:

Console players must note that there is no cross-platform matchmaking between VALORANT Console and PC. Players can only play with a controller on the beta and not using a keyboard and mouse. Currently, the download size of the game is 33.98 GB.

One major point for players to note is that they do not require a subscription to play the VALORANT Console Open Beta. PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass only provides in-game benefits to fans who have an active subscription. VALORANT players who take part during the console’s open beta will receive a special player card in-game.
