Recently, Riot Games announced V25, the in-game season of VALORANT in 2025. Within each season, there will be six significant Acts in the game, during which fans can expect new content from VALORANT. According to reports, the upcoming VCT 2025 melee skin has been leaked. In this article, let us look at all the information concerning this topic.
All details of the leaked VCT 2025 Melee
In the recent Dev Diary video by VALORANT, Leo Furia, the Global head of VALORANT Esports, mentioned that a new VCT Melee would be released in 2025.
This skin would be similar to the VCT LOCK//IN Capsule released in 2023. The VCT LOCK//IN Capsule was priced back at 5,440 VP on its launch. The knife was a limited-edition skin that would be available in-game for a certain period. This is similar to how Riot launched the VALORANT Champions bundles in the game.
According to the leaks, the upcoming VCT 2025 melee knife will be a Karambit Knife. Like the VCT LOCK//IN Capsule, each knife variant will be associated with one of the four regional VCT leagues. According to Riot Games, the VCT LOCK//IN Capsule generated over $10 million in revenue when it was launched in 2023.
Since 2021, VALORANT has included exclusive melee skin within its VALORANT Champions bundle. For example, the VALORANT Champions 2024 skin bundle included a Kartana. Riot Games has stated that for each VCT skin sold, the teams receive 50% of the revenue from the profits.
No one can blame VALORANT for releasing another skin in the game because, according to Riot Games, they shared over $78 million in revenue with the VCT teams, $44 million of which was through the VCT 2024 Capsule. In 2023, VALORANT raised over $20 million through its VALORANT Champion 2023 bundle in less than 3 weeks.
Riot Games seems to be trying to find unique crowdfunding methods for its esports ecosystem. With the new VCT 2025 Capsule already released and VCT teams being allowed to have betting websites as sponsors, it would be interesting to note how much revenue within the VCT League has increased in 2025.
