The Fortnite system requirements come in two different sizes! There’s the basics. Basically, the bare minimum you’ll need to run the game. These specs are more tuned to playing the game in performance mode, the lower end of the Fortnite PC requirements.
Then there’s the recommended, which is what epic wants players to aim for to run the game well in current Fortnite seasons. These are the two Fortnite system requirements in Chapter 6:

- Processor – Core i3-3225 3.3 GHz
- Memory – 8 GB RAM
- OS – Windows 10 64-bit
Recommended Fortnite PC System Requirements
- Video Card – Nvidia GTX 960, AMR R9 280, or Equivalent DX11
- Video Memory – 2GB VRAM
- Processor – Core i5-7300U 3.5 GHz, AMD Ryzen 3 3300U, or equivalent
- Memory – 16 GB RAM or mor
- Hard Drive – NVMe Solid State Drive
- OS – Windows 10/11 64-bit
The recommended should play the game pretty solidly. Although, if you want to go all the way up to the highest graphics settings, it gets a bit more difficult! These are the recommended specs for getting up to Epic Quality on the textures:
- Video Card – Nvidia RTX 3070, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Equivalent
- Video Memory – 8 GB VRAM or higher
- Processor – Intel Core i7-8700, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x or equivalent
- Memory – 16GB RAM
- Hard Drive – NVMe Solid State Drive
- OS – Windows 10/11 64-bit

Since release, the quality has improved quite a bit. We’ve now got much higher resolution textures, more effects, and a load of features. The game has improved a lot. It’s gone from looking like a game with 100 players online a once, made quickly in 2017, to being a major release that only brought its new map out in late 2024. A big part of Fortnite staying relevant is always looking like a current game, not becoming aged. Which has meant increasing Fortnite PC requirements.
This has meant the game got more difficult to run over the years. You’ll need to make sure you’re keeping up if you want to run the title at the best quality. You can tune down graphics to help your performance, but as the game gets more demanding you will have to consider upgrading eventually.
