Short of doing a poll between all the skins in Fortnite, but with 2,000 different looks splitting the vote it might not be particularly helpful data. 10. Poised Playmaker

The old soccer skin was at one time a meme for try-hard player or streamer-wannabe. It seems it’s still fairly popular. Poised Playmaker specifically still gets over 1% of all uses. It’s a fun skin, but not the most creative compared to Fortnite collab skins or more recent offerings.
9. Rust

Rust is a fun skin, a Metallica fan clearly and a pretty unique player model. However, it is a bit strange to think this is one of the most popular Fortnite skins. It’s still up there in terms of use, at ninth overall.
8. Peabody

Pretty often, meme skins make the list of most used Fortnite skins. Recently, Peabody has risen as high as number 8th. The fun pea skin is definitely cool and it seems it’s the most popular of the current fun ones. This might mean we see more variations on Peabody in the future.
7. Runway Racer

Runway Racer is a fairly plain skin, with a race-car driver aesthetic. It’s got a mask covering most of its face though, which might be part of the appeal.

Caper is another fairly plain skin, again this one has a mask on. These plainer looks definitely seem to be the most popular in Fortnite. It might be since the plainer ones are in shorter supply, they get more players total. Whereas those who like the crazier Fortnite skins are spread thinner between all the different skins.
5. Aura

One of the most popular Fortnite skins is Aura, mainly or low lag properties which the best Fortnite players insist makes a major difference to performance! That makes this fairly random character one of the most used Fortnite skins, even though there isn’t a major reason for it.
4. Brite Raider

Brite Raider is a more recent skin that’s already made it most of the way through the most popular skins list. This one was from Chapter 5, but it’s a unique design of an older character. Resembling Renegade Raider crossed with the Brite character we see pop up from time to time. This kind of crossover might have made them more popular.
3. Joltara

Joltara is a bit tricky to separate from another skin on this list, it’s a Superhero skin. This means while it’s supposed to have a unique appearance, most people play it as a blank-colored character without any distinguishing features.
2. The Machinist

Strangely, another character from the Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Pass still makes the most used list at the moment! The Machinist is a fun character who featured in a Fortnite live event recently. They’re a cool skin and it’s nice to see a character who played a role in Fortnite lore getting some use.
1. Backlash

The next of the most used Fortnite skins is Backlash. The most used skin in the game at nearly 2.3% of players. What’s special about Backlash? It’s that blank-slate superhero skin you see all over the game. One of the sweatiest Fortnite skins, and just a plain and simple color over a skin. If you’ve played for long enough this probably isn’t the biggest surprise, you see this skin absolutely all over.
Maybe in future seasons, we’ll see something else finally take the rank of most popular Fortnite skins. However, the superhero skin has stayed very popular for a long time. It’ll probably take something special to take over from that one.
