We’re finishing up the summer season for Fortnite, and even with new modes included a lot of players are hoping for a big change to the game soon. The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 release date and time might be that update for players. When exactly can we expect that though?
In the past release dates for all Fortnite seasons were more guesswork. We knew when the Battle Pass ended, but didn’t know when the game actually changed over seasons as Epic kept that private. This season, the end date has been set in stone since the very beginning! Or it was. Until a week before release when Epic moved the release date.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Release Date and Time
This season, we’ve had a solid end date announced since the first Fortnite patch notes.
The new season will begin on Friday August 15 at 11 PM EST. That’s when the game goes offline for its big update.
In terms of when the new season will be available, it will hopefully be within a few hours of this time. This is where we could get delays though. Players likely remember the launch of C5 S2, where the update actually hitting took days thanks to problems with the patch. We could see some slight delays this season, but if all goes to plan that’s the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 release date and time.
This will be when the chaos of cars and nitro ends in the game. And most likely when a whole new type of chaos takes over! What gameplay changes can we expect in the new Fortnite season?
New Fortnite Season Release Date Moved Forward

We’ve had the same Fortnite season locked into place for quite a while. However, Epic’s announced a last-minute change of plans! The new Fortnite season release date and time have been pushed ahead. It’ll now be launching a day early. Kind of. With the Fortnite live event done with, Epic’s moved things up.
The release date has been brought forward by 3 entire hours! This has technically brought it over the midnight line and moved our season release date over to August 15th at 11 PM. Since now down time keeps the game offline for a little while though, the new season still won’t begin until August 16th most likely. Unless Epic is extremely quick and you have great Wi-Fi!
This was a last-minute change, but it’s probably the last one we’ll get to the launch date. We can safely say the game will be launching on August 16th 2024.
What’s Coming in the New Season?
Everyone’s looking forward to the big update, but will the season. Be very different from the current builds? Thanks to some massive Fortnite leaks earlier in the year, we already have a pretty good idea about what’s coming next season in Fortnite. It’s going to be another Fortnite/Marvel crossover season.

What does this mean in practice? We’re likely to see Marvel superheroes on the map as bosses again, with their powers dropping as Mythics. They’ll likely also be in the Battle Pass and available as Fortnite skins. Doctor Doom is going to be featured, just like in Chapter 2 Season 4. We’ve had most of the C5 S4 Battle Pass skins announced now.
The new season won’t be all superheroes though. It’s also when we’ll see our Fortnitemares updates, with some new content coming for that. In all, it’ll be a varied season but we’ll have to wait till closer to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 release before we know exactly what’s coming.
