Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals viewership – two series breaking the 3 million barrier

Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals took place at the adidas arena in front of thousands of fans gathered in Paris, France. The top 8 teams from the Swiss stage put up an incredible show, but in the end, it will be once again a full Eastern battle, with one Chinese representative and one Korean team guaranteed to make it to the Grand Final in London.

Once again, it was the series featuring T1 that took the spotlight, with the Korean team taking down Top Esports in a one-sided 3-0 series. Despite the dominant performance, over 3.6 million viewers tuned in, according to data platform Esports Charts, making it the most-watched quarterfinals series in Worlds’ history.

In particular, the four series racked up more than 33.9 million hours watched, marking a 47% increase compared to 2023.

FlyQuest giving Western fans hope

That being said, the most thrilling series came the day after, when Gen.G went head-to-head with the LCS team FlyQuest. In what was expected to be a one-sided series, FlyQuest showed up on the day with some out-of-the-box picks and strategies to take Gen.G to Silver Scrapes. While they weren’t able to make the upset happen in the end, they were still able to gather more than 3.5 million people to watch the series, proving that esports fans love to tune in and witness underdog stories.

Caedrel continues to lead co-streamers in Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals

Marc “Caedrel” Lamont has once again proven to be the most followed co-streamer of the tournament, attracting  340.7K concurrent viewers during the series between FLY and Gen.G, the highest in his channel’s history.

New records in the semifinals?

With the Chinese and Korean civil battles taking place in the semifinals, we’re likely going to see new viewership records, especially when T1 will face tournament favorites Gen.G on October 27. The two are two of the biggest powerhouses in League of Legends and with both teams having their year on the line, we’re likely going to see fans all over the world tuning in for a historic moment of this 2024 season.
