VALORANT star Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro has signed for Cloud9 for the third time in his career, two years after departing for Sentinels.
The Canadian initially played for Cloud9’s Counter-Strike Global Offensive roster before his switch to VALORANT. He then played under the Cloud9 banner for Riot’s shooter between October 2022 and September 2023 before his departure for Sentinels.

Zellsis’ announcement came in the form of a fun, Halloween-themed video, with him dressing up as George from Stephen King’s It.
Opening the announcement video with “Trick or treat?”, he later delivered a tasty surprise to the organization’s fans as he revealed that his former Version 1 teammate Erik “Penny ” Penny would also be joining the team.
The duo are replacing Mitch “Mitch” Semago and Michal “neT” Bernet on the team. They both departed from the organization earlier this week after a difficult 2025 season that saw Cloud9 fail to qualify for a single VALORANT Masters event for the third year in a row.
penny has spent the last few years largely outside of the VCT sphere, although he did play for Apeks in VCT EMEA during 2025 Stage 2. However, the team went winless during that run, and the entire squad was benched following their 0-5 record.

As for Zellsis, he lifted a single VCT trophy during his time with Sentinels, VALORANT Masters Madrid 2024, with a 3-2 victory over South Korean team Gen.G in the Grand Final. The squad won a number of small events during various off-seasons, as well as placing fourth at VALORANT Champions 2024.
Despite that success earlier in his stint with Sentinels, the organisation struggled for deep runs during 2025. The team finished 5th-6th in VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 and 5th-8th at the Esports World Cup 2025, but only came third in VCT Americas Stage 2 before exiting VALORANT Champions 2025 in last place following defeats to GIANTX and XGL Esports.
Fans will be waiting to see how Zellsis performs on Cloud9 along with his teammate penny.
