The Skyesports Championship 2024 has reached its conclusion. After an all-action Group Stage and some thrilling Playoffs matches, 3DMAX have been crowned as champions. On the day, it was The MongolZ who stood between the Frenchmen and glory – here’s how they came out on top.

3DMAX came into the Grand Final of the Skyesports Championship 2024 as massive underdogs against The MongolZ. Given this was the first LAN final for many of these players, it was understandable. However, on the day, it proved to be a total non-contest, and any idea of nerves instantly faded away as 3DMAX took control of both Anubis and Ancient. Even the 2:0 scoreline doesn’t quite do justice to how one-sided this one, as 3DMAX romped home to their first-ever LAN trophy.

This map felt like a coming-of-age moment for Graviti. Although he’s struggled at times during his time on this 3DMAX roster, he looked right at home on the Grand Final stage, as he delivered a massive 38:20 series to lock The MongolZ out of the match. These were monstrous performances all around from the French team, with Ex3rcice, Maka, and Djoko all putting out huge numbers.

The version of The MongolZ that showed up in the Grand Final of the Skyesports Championship 2024 was uncharacteristically poor. It underlines a bizarre start to the new CS2 season for the team, where they haven’t really got going at any point so far. Alarm bells won’t be ringing yet, but they’ll be disappointed that this was a Grand Final they lost, rather than 3DMAX simply having too much to offer.

Individually, not a single player for The MongolZ can honestly say they performed up to their standards here. While bLitz had a fine map one, his 3:15 performance on map two was a total disappearing act. Usually Mr. Consistent, bLitz won’t be pleased with himself. For context, not a single player from The MongolZ managed 25 kills across the series. For 3DMAX, this figure was hit by four players.
