The BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) 2024 day one has concluded with Orangutan Esports securing the first spot in the table. In this article, let’s look at some of the highlights from the first day of the BGMS Grand Finals.

At the start of BGMS, 24 teams participated. Most of the teams were given invited spots in the semi-finals. Four teams secured their spots through open qualification tournaments. Only the top 16 teams are participating in the BGMS Grand Finals. In the past, we have already covered how Global Esports and Reckoning Esports finished at the top of the group stages.

Going into Day 1, many had high hopes for teams like Godlike Esports, iQOOSoul, and Team XSpark. Game 1 concluded with Team Tamilas securing the Chicken Dinner with 11 finishes. Reckoning Esports, on the other hand, took quite a passive approach. They only took a duel during the final circles of the map, finishing second with just five finishes.

The second and third matches had very similar outcomes. The winners in each match were Global Esports and iQOOSoul, respectively. Both of them also got eight finishes with their Chicken Dinner. One highlight during game 3 was how Nakul “NakuL” Sharma carried his when he was on his lonesome against GodLike Esports. It was a 4vs3 standoff between the two teams, but by the end, Nakul was left to secure an incredible 1v3 clutch during the DBS.

During Game 3, Orangutan finished 2nd with 13 points to their name. During this time, Ankit “AKop” Shuklawas shocked everyone with his incredible 1v3 against Reckoning Esports. This clutch included an incredible jump shot with the shotgun against RGE. Orangutan Esports secured their first chicken dinner of the day on Erangle’s map during the final match. GodLIke Esports finished the last game with the highest finishes with 11 finishes.
