Black Ops 6 is coming out this weekend, with players getting a chance to play a BO game for the first time since 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. The first two titles in this series are beloved, but the series, and Call of Duty as a whole, has drifted from that in recent years. There’s a lot of hype surrounding Friday’s release, but will the game bring back zombies mode? Here’s everything we know.

Does Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Have Zombies?

Much of the marketing for Black Ops 6 has gone to the campaign. They have teased a bigger, more interesting story with the game, and Black Ops 6 leaks have suggested that the story will be the main focus. Second on the hierarchy is multiplayer, perhaps the most poplar CoD game mode ever. Those wondering if this game will bring back zombies can rest easy: Black Ops 6 will have zombies mode. Right now, there are two maps for the game: Liberty Falls and Terminus. A story behind the mode is back as well. It will likely not reach the depth of the narrative behind the first few Black Ops games, which have a rich lore, they have decided to put a narrative to the mode.

There is a lot of excitement over Zombies this time. What used to be a Black Ops staple had shifted into other games, most notably the most recent title: Modern Warfare 3. But the MWZ mode was largely disappointing to players, and it was clearly an afterthought to multiplayer. To rectify this, Treyarch came back to work on the game. They developed the zombies for Black Ops and Black Ops 2, both considered among the best CoD games with terrific zombies.

Unsurprisingly, their return is one of the biggest reasons for the excitement. The second reason is that round-based gameplay is back. Modern Warfare Zombies was not round-based. Instead, it tasked players with moving inward through a hot city filled with zombies to eventually reach an extraction point. The return to round-based play and potentially a return to Treyarch’s prime has fans excited.

Finally, Black Ops 6 releases on Friday, October 25. This is the same for all modes, from multiplayer to campaign, and there is no early access period for any of them regardless of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 pre-order status. You can get the game on launch on Game Pass if you are a subscriber.
