Professional Dota 2 will land in Thailand later this year as ESL announces their ESL One Bangkok tournament. Revealed on Tuesday, Sep. 3, across social media, ESL One Bangkok will take place between Dec. 9 and Dec. 15, 2024 in the Royal Paragon Hall.
Continuing the ESL Pro Tour (EPT), ESL One Bangkok will feature 12 of the top teams from around the world competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool. The event will be Thailand’s largest ever Dota 2 tournament, and ESL FACEIT Group’s first event in the country.
Group Stage and preliminary matches will start on Dec. 9, continuing throughout the week. The final stages of the event will be ticketed and open to spectators, with live attendance available through Dec. 13 until the end of the event.
Tickets go live on Sep. 5 if you’re able to drag yourself away from The International 2024 which will be entering its second day of action on that date. Tickets start at ฿1685.60 ($49.20 USD at time of writing), with infield tickets priced at ฿2633.75 ($76.88 USD). A Premium Add-On package will give you an event goodie bag, premium badge, and priority access to signing sessions for an additional ฿1580.25 ($46.13 USD).
Format appears to be the same as usual for EPT events with a pair of round-robin groups, and then an eight-team playoff. The winning team will receive $300,000 of the $1 million prize pool.

11th & 12th – $25,000
At the time of writing, no information about participating teams was available.
A list of sponsors was also included in the event page. Alongside intelARC, ACER Predator, DHL, and Monster Energy, ESL One Bangkok detailed sponsorship by Saudi Arabian mega project Qiddiya, the Esports World Cup, and the U.S. Air Force. ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) is a subsidiary of the Savvy Gaming Group, which is owned and operated as part of the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund.
