Fortnite Festival is a fun side mode, recreating the experience of Guitar Hero in Fortnite. However, the mode has only been available to players online so far. That’s going to change in a new update. Fortnite Festival local multiplayer is coming next week! It isn’t exactly going to sell the mode to Battle Royale online fighters. But it does add key functionality to the game to make it a bit more social.
Fortnite Festival local multiplayer is due to come with the next update. We already knew a major drop was coming for the mode, with the release of the Fortnite Hatsune Miku skin and new season for the Festival. Local multiplayer has been a bit of a bigger surprise though. This will make it much easier for players to work together. How will it work and when can we expect the feature to launch?
Fortnite Festival Local Multiplayer Coming
Fortnite Festival is getting a new way to play, with local multiplayer coming to the game soon. You can already join up with players online and play the Fortnite Festival songs together. However, starting with a new update we’ll be able to play local co-op too. You can play Jam Tracks within the same room.
This feature will likely work the same as Fortnite split screen. It’s available for Battle Royale. However, Festival has a few advantages to this style of play. For one thing, you don’t need to see most of the screen like in Battle Royale. Players probably remember from rhythm games on older consoles that the layout and UI fit really well for multiple players on one screen.
Local multiplayer should be playable in the same way as other Fortnite local play, so you just need two inputs for controls and you can get started.
When is the Update Coming?
Fortnite Festival Local Multiplayer will be a fun way to play, but it hasn’t arrived just yet. We’ve got a little longer to wait. It’s due to be part of the January 14th update, along with Hatsune Miku and more. Any time after that, we should see it turned on for Fortnite Festival.
