The Avengers can disassemble, as the Fortnite Marvel Items in Chapter 5 Season 4 were officially nerfed. The first patch of the season was released yesterday, and it brought in some tweaks to offset the issues that people were having. One issue was that many believed Captain America’s Shield and the War Machine Items to be too overpowered. Thus, Epic Games nerfed them and made some other changes.

Fortnite Marvel Items Nerfed in Latest Patch
Both, the Captain America’s Shield and War Machine’s Arsenal, have been nerfed. The days of absolutely obliterating players with those two items are likely gone, though they will still be quite useful.
ShiinaBR revealed that the shield now does less damage, and it requires better aim. It won’t act like a heat-seeking missile that will target the closest player if you throw it too far off. It will still bounce off and deal damage to multiple players, though.
War Machine’s Arsenal has also seen a damage nerf. Rockets fired out of it will deal less damage to builds, making it harder to instantly destroy player structures to get inside. They also need a longer time to reload, so there won’t be as much rapid-fire rocket usage.
Some players had no chance against a barrage of shields and rockets, so the Fortnite Marvel Items were nerfed as a result. Additionally, the Sovereign Shotgun got a tweak, but it wasn’t nerfed. The gun fires a little faster now when aimed down.
It’s no surprise that Epic Games nerfed these items. This is the standard procedure with new seasons. When new items come in, they’re never perfect. Players complain a little bit about the struggles each item is introducing to the game, and Epic responds by nerfing or buffing them. If the weapon is too strong, which it often is, then a nerf is in store. If they’re too weak, a buff is in line. That’s what happened for Chapter 5 Season 4 and will possibly happen again later.
