Great news for Warhammer 40k fans as Space Marine 3, a sequel to last year’s hugely popular Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, is officially in production. Details of the start of production were unveiled on Games Workshop, the company behind all things Warhammer, on their community page, and by release yesterday (March 13).
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, the developers of Space Marine 2, also shared a press release and statement upon the announcement. The details are sparse, but what we do know we’ve detailed below.

Space Marine 3 Confirmed as GW Announces It’s In Production
According to the announcement and accompanying press release, Space Marine 3 has officially begun production. The game will likely kick off after the events of Space Marine 2, and the accompanying Secret Level episode.
As we’ve mentioned, there aren’t too many details, such as factions included and story details, but the announcement has confirmed another deep and engaging story, and multiplayer modes. The release on Focus Entertainment’s website also shared the following:
“We have been honored by the incredible response from fans following the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. We will continue to support the game with exciting content and regular updates in the coming years. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the adventure will continue with Space Marine 3. Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games…
…We view this as an opportunity to create a true love letter to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.”
As for a release date – that’s the bad news. There’s no solid date, and no solid timeline, with the Games Workshop post stating that it’ll be “years” before we’ll get our hands on the game.
Space Marine 3 is the successor to Summer 2024’s breakout hit Space Marine 2, which saw us return to the grim darkness of the forty-first millennium and battle Tyranids with Titus and his Ultramarine battle brothers. Since launch, the game earned huge praise for its compelling story, and earned a spot in Amazon Studio’s Secret Level, with Captain Titus once again showing off his skills.
However, there’s plenty of content still available in Space Marine 2, and the announcement reaffirmed the company’s commitment to bringing more content to the game – including the much awaited Horde Mode, a favorite from the original Space Marine game.
