One of the most exciting additions to recent Fortnite seasons has been the Doom Island. A new mechanic which is only present in a handful of games. While it’s being changed up with the spawn rate, how to get Doom Island in Fortnite has still been kind of tricky. If you want to actually play as Doom in Fortnite, how can you do it?
The system to get the special Island in Fortnite isn’t the most convenient for players. You’re going to have to roll the dice and see if you can become Doctor Doom in Fortnite. With the recent change to the game’s spawn rate for the island though, it is a lot easier. Although, only for a short period of time. This is what we know about getting the Doom Island at the moment.

How to Get Doom Island in Fortnite
In each game of Fortnite, Doom Island has a random chance of appearing. You won’t know if this is a Doom game or not until the late game when the Rift in POI appears. Up until that point, you just have to hope and try your best to stay alive. Once it rifts in, you’ll see an announcement if you’ve gotten Doom.
How does the game decide if you get Doom as the Island or not? It’s just a chance. At the start, there was a 5% chance of getting the Rift in POI. Pretty low if you consider you have to make it to the end-game every match. The only way to get the Doom Island in Fortnite is to wait and see if you’ve lucked out or not.
The spawn has been changing too. Over this weekend, the spawn rate doubled every day. However, it will reset back to 5% with Tuesday’s Fortnite update though.
When Does the Island leave?
The Doom island isn’t a permanent feature. It’s not even going to be here for the entire season. Instead, we’ll only have the chance of getting the Doom Island in Fortnite until October 5th. It’ll be turned off after this, so try and get your turn in as Doom before then.
