Elder Jinchi is one of the most crucial boss fights in the early-game stages of Black Myth: Wukong. This is because it rewards the Fireproof Mantle Vessel, which is extremely helpful during some of the game’s other boss fights. It’s certainly no walk in the park, so we’re going to give you a few pieces of advice to take down Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong.
Where to find Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong
Because Elder Jinchi is an optional boss, not every player will encounter him on their playthrough. In fact, he’s pretty tricky to find, so most will probably miss this boss. To meet Elder Jinchi, you must first ring three bells. These are defended by the bosses Guangzhi, Guangmou, and the Whiteclad Noble, so you must defeat these first to ring the bells. After this, you’ll be transported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple, where you can fight Elder Jinchi.
Best ways to beat Elder Jinchi in Black Myth: Wukong
In terms of fighting style, you’ll notice that Elder Jinchi is pretty similar to the Wandering Wight. Elder Jinchi’s attacks can take you down in one combo, but crucially, they’re slow. This makes them easy to dodge, even if it takes a few attempts to learn the exact patterns. If you do happen to take damage during this fight, defeat some of the corpses around Elder Jinchi. You’ll heal a little without using your Gourd, making your life a bit easier.
At 50% health, Elder Jinchi will begin to levitate, and the corpses will try to heal him. You MUST get them before they get to him, or your progress will go to waste. Luckily, this isn’t a boss with any big attack changes, so what worked to get him down to half health will continue to work afterwards.
As always, we’re going to point to the Immobilize spell as the big winner here. Elder Jinchi isn’t exactly the fastest of bosses, so you can get close to him, use the spell, and get in many attacks before escaping without taking any damage.
