VALORANT Console was launched in August 2024 and came as a surprise to many players. If you are playing the game on console, whether it’s the Xbox or PS5, a question that might have popped up in your mind is whether VALORANT is cross-play.
Does VALORANT Console Support Cross-play Between PS5 And Xbox?
VALORANT Console is currently available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Since the game’s launch, there has been a constant buzz about it, and new features have been added to the console variant, such as Toggled Abilities.
Coming back to cross-play, does the VALORANT console support it? Well, the simple answer to this question is yes. Players on the PS5 can play together with their friends on the Xbox Series X. The sole reason for this being implemented, as seen in games like Fortnite, is to ensure the game is universally available.
If you have been playing VALORANT on PC for the last four years, fear not, as you won’t need to make a new account and lose all the skins you have purchased. VALORANT has introduced a feature to cross-link your account between your PC and console. One must note that there is no cross-play between PS5 and PC. Currently, the VALORANT Console has all the agents available on the VALORANT PC but not all maps. This is because VALORANT launches one new map during each new game update.
Players must note that currently, VALORANT Console is only available in the regions of the USA, UK, Japan, and Brazil. One reason for the slow release of the game worldwide is the console market within various countries. Only time will tell when the game will be available in multiple regions in the APAC and EMEA region and if we get to see an esports league of its own.
