The MLBB tournament during the SEA Games has two phases: the group stage and the playoffs stage. The grand finals are played in a B05 Series. Since 2019, the Philippines national men’s team of MLBB has won the tournament 3 times in a row. In the 2023 edition of the event, an all-female MLBB esports event was also hosted. The Indonesian women’s national team won the tournament and won a gold medal. With MLBB becoming the headline esports for the event in 2025, one could expect there to be 11 teams taking part this year in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.

We recently saw the finals of the MPL Philippines, during which Fnatic ONIC PH won the tournament. This win helped them secure a spot in the MLBB M6 World Championship. Only time will tell if the Philippines can continue their streak of winning the gold medal this year and secure a 4-peat.
