MultiVersus has a huge roster of characters, it’s half the appeal of this free-to-play fighter. Not every character is equal though. The different kit means there’s a big difference between those at the top and bottom of the MultiVersus tier list.
The best MultiVersus characters each have something in their kit that makes them stronger than the competition. Although, things can change fast. MultiVersus updates are constantly altering characters. If you want to stay on top of the meta, you’ve got to keep an eye on which character is growing and how the patches have impacted things. The MultiVersus tier list 2024 is very different to the one in early access.
S Tier
These are the S-Tier characters in this stage of the game. Since the title returned, there’s been a handful who stand out as the best characters in MultiVersus. Some of these have stuck around from the past version of the game. Others have been added or risen to the top of the game since its return though.

A lot of these characters have an outsized impact on gameplay. Although, there’s an active approach taken to balancing things. A lot of these could be candidates for nerfs in the future, especially newer names like Samurai Jack. Although with new additions like MultiVersus Beetlejuice planned, there might be new OP characters to replace them even as they’re fixed.
A Tier – MultiVersus Tier List
The S Tier is the absolute top, but this is a diverse title and the A tier is still well above average. These include some of the newer characters who might not have their full potential figured out yet, so these could rise up even higher in the future.

B Tier is where we kind of get to fighters who are worse than average. The B Tier for the MultiVersus tier list covers some of the characters who have clearer flaws. Once great characters like Iron Giant, Taz, or Tom and Jerry who won the first EVO tournament for the game. However, each has been nerfed to a point they’re in the bottom half of the game now.
Some of those early standouts like Iron Giant and Taz are still being nerfed. At this tier though, they don’t get the most play anymore.

The C Tier is the bottom of the MultiVersus fighters. These characters are pretty lacking. A very skilled player might still be able to climb with these, but they’re lacking at the moment and probably need a buff to become competitive.

That’s how things stand at the moment, but things move fast in this game. We could see these characters moved around quite a bit in the future. Especially now that MultiVersus Ranked mode is back and players are beginning to experiment with characters more seriously.
