Team OG’s (Temporary) Dota 2 Roster

Just days after the International 2024, OG announced the departure of two of its players, Enzo “Timado” Gianoli and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov. Timado is set to join Shopify Rebellion, while BZM has been moved to innactive.

However, it didn’t take long before OG announced their upcoming Dota 2 roster, featuring 23 and Leon “Nine” Kirilin. The prospect of having 23 and TI11 Champion, Nine, on the same team is definitely exciting. As such, there are high expectations for OG to perform well during the Western Europe qualifier of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024.

While 23’s fans are excited to see him in OG’s line-up, unfortunately, this may just be a temporary arrangement.

Post-TI Roster Lock came too soon

Team OG isn’t the only one that is frantically putting up a temporary roster for the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 Qualifiers.

For instance, Talon Esports picked up Carlo “Kuku” Palad as temporary stand-in for the same qualifier. While Natus Vincere brought Clement “Puppey” Ivanov and Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan for the upcoming DreamLeague Season 24 qualifier.

Then, there’s Cloud9, which reported disbanded and withdrew from the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 Qualifier due to insufficient duration to confirm their roster. According to Cloud9’s coach, Filipe “Astini” Astini, there was only a week’s deadline for roster changes before it’s locked, which he expressed was the most stressful situation he’s ever been in throughout his professional Dota 2 career.

Without Valve’s regulation on the Dota 2 Esports calendar, every third-party tournament organizer is inconsiderately stuffing as many qualifiers and tournaments into the new season. Considering participation in these early tournaments will be crucial for future tournament invites, it’s understandable that every Dota 2 team wants this head start. Yet, finalizing roster with such limited time can be a recipe for failure.

Anyways, stay tuned for the latest Dota 2 Roster Shuffle 2024-2025 tracker.
