A few days before the semifinals and Grand Final of LoL Worlds 2024, Riot Games has revealed the location and hosting region for the 2025 edition.

LoL Worlds 2025 Location – Going back to CN

The information was revealed indirectly through a partnership announcement between Riot Games and Chinese smartphone company OPPO, who renewed their partnership for next year.

“As part of their continued support, OPPO remains the global presenting partner for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at both Worlds and the Mid-Season Invitational”, said Riot through their blog post on the LoL Esports official site. “For the past five years, OPPO has been there for some of the biggest moments in LoL Esports history. In sharing the news of their continued global partnership with LoL Esports as part of the OPPO Find X8 series launch event in Chengdu, OPPO was alongside Riot Games for another major milestone, revealing China as the home of Worlds 2025.”

Worlds is heading back to China after 2020

After nearly five years, Worlds will be held in China. Previously, the hosting cities were Beijing and Shanghai for 2017 and 2020, respectively.

While there is still no indication of which cities will be hosting the various stages, we might expect some of the current venues used by the LPL. More details might be revealed ahead of the Grand Final on November 2, at the O2 Arena in London.

China recently hosted another League of Legends international tournament, the Mid-Season Invitational, which took place in May in Chengdu.

Before we look more into the 2025 season, there is still a lot to unfold for this year’s Worlds. WBG and BLG will face off on October 26, with T1 and Gen.G having their own “domestic war” the following day at the adidas arena in Paris, France,
