Following the win, players from T1 were ecstatic. It felt like a joy of relief, like a weight had finally been removed from their shoulders. Players like stax and BuZz won their first international tournament since participating in VALORANT Esports in 2021. They have been together ever since. This bond could be seen as stax ran first to BuZz to hug him after they won the match.

Following the game, Meteor from T1 received the VALORANT Masters Bangkok MVP bracelet. He has become the first VCT Pacific player to win 2 Masters events. With this, he joined only a handful of players that have won two international VALORANT tournaments.

When asked by Meteor about what the difference is in competition and talent with VCT Pacific since 2021 until now, he had this to say:

“Regarding Korea and Koreans, we start playing games from a very young age. In our generation, League Of Legends was the dominant game because many players played League. Back then, due to this, we didn’t have a lot of people who were good with shooting games. The talent pool is only going to get broader and more profound. Korea has a very bright future ahead of us. Well, I can’t pinpoint the exact player difference between 2022 and now, but I don’t want people underestimating us.”

When stax was asked about why he ran to hug BuZz first, he has this to say:

“Well, right before the game ended, I saw BuZz almost losing it and exhausted, and I was looking at BuZz being like please cry, but he didn’t. So I went and just hugged him. Now all I am looking at is the Champions trophy in Paris.”

Honestly, the first map was one for the ages. G2 Esports dominated T1. They shut down the likes of BuZz and Meteor with ease. On the other hand, Leaf had one of his best maps during the tournament. He ended the game with a kill-death ratio of 2:1.

Map 2 was one where T1 fought back. Using their double duelist composition, they could regain momentum in their favor. The rookie Sylvan performed well during this map. Known for his patient playstyle, he ended the map with the highest number of first bloods.

Map 3 was played on the map of Abyss. A map that has constantly been banned by T1. Interestingly, Meteor played Reyna on this map, the first time the agent was used during the event. On this map, T1 had the lead to the score of 11-8. But following that, we saw an Incredible 1v4 ACE by jaegemo that broke the camel’s back. Following this, G2 Eports won 5 rounds in a row and took the map with a scoreline of 13-11.

Map 4 was all-around redemption. T1 had to ensure they didn’t let the loss on Abyss get to their mental. During this match, we saw a very resilient T1 who focused on their fundamentals. After a very close map, T1 secured the win, taking us to map 4.

The Decider Map

Map 5 was a story of two halves. In the first phase of the game, we saw T1 get the lead and keep it until winning nine rounds. G2 Esports, following this, made an incredible comeback and scored 9-11 in their favor. They even got to match point with T1 on the back foot. But by keeping a calm and composed head, T1 clawed its way back and took the game to overtime. The game went to triple overtime, with T1 winning the series 16-14.
