Team Falcons have swept the competition at the DreamLeague Season 24, defeating recent champions and powerhouses along the way to claim victory
After their early exit from the International 2024 (TI13), Falcons have made good on fumbling the biggest tournament of the year despite having a phenomenal season. Now, they’re back in top condition with a win at DreamLeague S24
Falcons win DreamLeague S24
On paper, there were no faults in Team Falcons’ performance throughout the whole tournament. They were top seeds in group stages and advanced into playoffs without a single loss. And in fact, our predictions for DreamLeague S24 had them on top.
Their second group stage did look shaky for a moment, but even with the adversity of three Eastern European powerhouses, they toppled every foe in their way. Team Spirit and PARIVISION were decent opponents who had defeated the likes of Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators, the two TI13 Grand Finalists. However, even then, they paled in comparison to a more seasoned and consistent team like Team Falcons.
In their decisive best-of-five grand finals, both Falcons and BetBoom seemingly had their version of Dota in mind. BetBoom frequently picked Batrider, Tusk and Nature’s Prophet as their staple with the occasional rotation on just their mid hero and carry.
It’s evident that these are BetBoom’s comfort picks or meta picks, but it still didn’t matter against Falcons. In response to BetBoom’s repetitive picks, Falcons did the same, picking Bristleback, Hoodwink and Pugna. However, what sets Falcons apart from most opponents at DreamLeague S24 is their unchanged roster despite the massive roster overhaul during post-TI13 roster shuffle.
Here, through their play we saw the bond and synergy among the five Falcons players truly make their execution look flawless and unrelenting – they’re one of the strongest teams in Dota 2. If you’re looking to bet on Dota 2, it’s hard to bet against Team Falcons right now.
