Before this tournament, they haven’t been able to reach the top 4 in any international tournament. During the VALORANT Champions 2024, they have been one of the best teams in the game.
Following their qualification to the tournament’s playoffs phase, Edward Gaming has been on top form, defeating the likes of Sentinels and Leviatan to reach the Grand Finals. Edward Gaming is one of the best teams to observe and plant the spike. They have one of the highest win rates post-plant. Only a few teams have been able to stop them from planning the spike.
The primary worry for their team could be their experience in a best-of-5 series. This will be the first best-of-5 series they place at an international VALORANT tournament. If the team can win the first two matches of the series, they can quickly secure the win.

They are one of the only teams in any VALORANT Leagues to have two brothers within their roster. Miniboo and Boo have spread fear in the eyes of many due to their explosive gun game. The one quality to point out of this team is their very young roster. Due to this, there have been moments when one teammate hasn’t taken part in a tournament.
During VALORANT Champions, they could play with their main roster — the same team that played during EMEA stages one and two. Due to this, they gathered momentum for the first time with the same roster at an event. In this tournament, they proved why they have one of the best mental games in VALORANT Esports. During this event, they had three complete reverse sweeps against the likes of DRX, Gen G, and Sentinels.
Like Edward Gaming, this team hasn’t been the best during a Best of 5 series. But in their match against Leviatan, they proved they could bounce back after losing a map within the series.
To win the Grand Finals of VALORANT Champions, Team Heretics must start the series with a map win. Following that, they must stop Edward Gaming from planting the spike. By doing so, they create an ideal win condition for them to secure the trophy.
In our opinion, this match will go to game 4 or 5. Edward Gaming will win the first map, following which Team Heretics will win the next two maps. The rest depends on the map bans by both teams.
