If you’ve checked the VALORANT minimum requirements, you might have noticed that the game requires 30GB of free storage space to store all the files including the VANGUARD anti-cheat. However, the Windows Control Panel’s Program and Features section shows the game is taking a whopping 3 TB of storage after installation. As a result, it has understandably raised concerns among many players and they’re flocking to the internet to find the reason behind this and ways to fix VALORANT taking up 3 TB storage issue.

Why is VALORANT taking up 3 TB and how to fix it?

The problem with VALORANT taking 3 TB of disk space is more of an optical illusion that doesn’t reflect actual storage requirements. Many players have reported this issue where the game occupies a large amount of storage in the Windows ‘Apps & Features’ section. In fact, VALORANT takes far less space, usually, at least, 20 GB is needed to install it.

In other words, the 3 TB size listing is just another case of misreporting on the part of the game’s storage reporting system and is not reflective of any actual usage of disk space. Riot Games has noted this as a bug and has made certain changes that fix the said display issue. Therefore, VALORANT players have been urged to change their actual disk usage through settings and to update the game to the latest version to address the problem.

Check Actual Disk Usage: To confirm the actual value of VALORANT, use the storage settings of your device.
Update the Game: This should be solved by ensuring that VALORANT is updated to the latest version and featuring patches to this problem.
Reinstall if Necessary: If the problem still remains even with updates, one should try uninstalling VALORANT to get rid of any corrupted files that might influence the display error.
