Fortnite has a huge player base, but it’s often split between normal players and what everyone has come to term as sweats. Sweats are the try-hard players, those who are constantly breaking a sweat, busting builds, boxing up, and generally taking every random pubs game as seriously as the FNCS finale. The sweatiest Fortnite skins are how you can catch these in the wild.

The sweatiest skins mark a player out in most lobbies. Every Duo or team has their own ways of describing skins. It’s not uncommon to see some of these skins simply referred to as “sweat” in callouts though.

A sweat skin isn’t inherently the mark of a good player. There are plenty of try-hards sporting them too that can’t win Fortnite games. However, it’s worth highlighting just what the sweatiest Fortnite skins are.

Lara Croft at one point was another crossover skin and not particularly regarded as anything all that special, aside from to fans of Tomb Raider. However, over time it has become one of the sweatiest Fortnite skins. This comes from a very unpopular season and also has the other competitive advantages that players are looking for.

4. Aura

Aura is one of the most used Fortnite skins, but also one of the sweatiest. This is a skin that has been around for a little while, but some players believe it to be a low-lag skin. Meaning there’s little to load in with the skin thanks to its more basic design. Between this and the smaller feeling hitbox, it’s a skin. A lot of sweaty players stick with it.

3. Siren

Siren is one of the sweatiest Fortnite skins, and one that isn’t really sweaty for any particularly noticeable reason. It’s not an OG skin or anything, originally added back in Chapter 2 Season 2. However, for some reason, this design has absolutely taken off with sweaty players.

Almost in keeping with them being such sweaty skins, Siren has even been the base for an FNCS Fortnite skin. This gave it a makeover to match the aesthetics of Fortnite’s sweatiest competitive event.

Before we get to the number 1 sweatiest skins in Fortnite, we’ve got the runner-up. The soccer skin. At one point the undisputed look of the try hard, but the soccer skins aren’t quite the menace they used to be.

Since Chapter 2-3, they’ve been largely superseded by the skin in Number 1. However, for a long time, these basic soccer outfit skins were the sweatiest skins in Fortnite. You still see them on good players from time to time, showing off the OG Sweat.

The Superhero skins are some of the most iconic Fortnite skins. It’s characters who were supposed to unlock freedom to players to design their own special characters. Then players made the most boring physically possible combination and called it a day.

These skins are the single-block colors, great for blending in with your surroundings. Then there’s the “zero lag” skin angle, which apparently these skins are. At this point, the Superhero sweat skin is recognizable the game over as the definitive look of try-hards and pros alike.

They might make tournament streams a lot more boring than the early days, but these skins are kind of charming in their own way. It’s fun that the player base of Fortnite has so much lore surrounding what is a customization option Epic might not have even planned on being used.

Why Do People Use Sweat Skins?

Those are the sweatiest skins in Fortnite, but why are some skins highlighted by players as different? Why do they become sweat skins?

There are a few factors. It all comes down to is players prioritizing performance and small metrics in-game over looking fun. The first part of this is that female skins are almost universally used thanks to their smaller size.

Then we get into a more recent phenomenon, the zero-lag skin. Some players claim there’s a tiny performance difference between skins. It’s debatable how much this is really a factor. However, for some players, the small gain is worth it to use the sweatiest skins in Fortnite.
