The BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) is heating up as the grand finals approaches. Recently, the domination week of the tournament concluded, and four teams qualified for the Grand Finals of BGMS. In this article, let’s look at those four teams and which other teams can make it to the Grand Finals.

Since the start of the tournament, Reckoning Esports and Global Esports have been at the top of the leaderboard. With BGMS having different point systems than official events, these two teams have been able to make the most of the new rules. One of the rules that has impacted this tournament is the powerplay rule. The rule states that for each finish the team secures, they will receive double the points. This rule is only applicable to the first circle within the game.

These teams have been performing well since the BGMI India Series in June. Global Esports finished second in that event, with Reckoning Esports finishing third. A significant reason for their success in this event was their ability to take duels as a team or in isolated situations. Reckoning Esports finished this week with 179 finish points, the second highest within the event.

Global Esports, on the other hand, focused on both their finishes and the bounty points. The bounty rule system states that if a team can finish all four players from a team in the top four, then they will receive an extra 10 points. During this tournament, Global Esports confirmed 20 points.

The teams that have finished in the third and fourth spots have been the pretty dark horses within the event. They are Carpediem and Gods Reign. In the past, Gods Reign used to field Gladiator Esports’ roster, which is now in Mogo Esports. Carpediem is a no-org team consisting of the old Entity core of Pukar “Pukar” Singla and Tushar “GamlaBoy” Das, and the ex-Revenant Esports player Ritesh “Fierce” Nawandar.

Carpediem had the highest number of finish points during the event, 183. On the other hand, they had the lowest number of placement points among the top 10 teams in the leaderboard. This shows that the team’s focus on duels and team battles was fruitful in this event. Now, the top four teams will not be required to participate in the tournament’s playoff phase.

The remaining 16 teams will now play in a two-day playoff event. The top 12 teams from the playoffs phase of the tournament will qualify for the Grand Finale, which is slated to take place from Aug. 9 to 11. One must note that this is one of the few esports events in India that is telecasted on live television.
