This past weekend (Aug. 3 – Aug. 4), Square Enix hosted a Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest event in China, at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, and during it showed off some new and upcoming content for FFXIV.
With the game’s director and lead producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida taking the stage for a panel on upcoming content in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, FFXIV players were treated to a look at the new content in the pipeline. This included screenshots of the next Ultimate raid, the Field Operation content, and the new large crafting and gathering content later in the expansion. Here’s all the details:
FFXIV China Fan Fest Content Reveals
Below we’ve compiled all the details of the new content reveals at the FFXIV China Fan Fest from Aug. 3 – Aug. 4:
Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) – Patch 7.11

We already knew that the next ultimate would be released in patch 7.11, but details have been sparse. It was known that the battle would be themed of the previous Eden raid series, but now players have had the first solid glimpses of the boss fights.
First and foremost, the Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) will definitely feature The Fatebreaker, a monstrous amalgam of the memories of NPCs Thancred and Ran’jit. This means, the fight will likely take us through the entirety of Eden, and perhaps even give us some more story beats, as with the incredible Dragonsong Ultimate.
Shades Triangle and Occult’s Crescent Field Operation – Patch 7.2X

This weekend we also saw details of the previously teased Field Operation, with the names of the first two zones and some info about the content. Yoshi-P explained that the zones, called Shades Triangle and Occult’s Crescent, would feature the best parts from both Eureka and Bozja. We know the content is set to arrive in Patch 7.2, so it’s now just a matter of waiting.
Cosmic Exploration Crafting & Gathering Content – Patch 7.XX

We’re spoilt for post-expansion Crafting and Gathering content in a way, with the Ishgardian Restoration and Island Sanctuary being some of the largest and deepest piece of side content in the game. Still Yoshi-P also gave us the first looks at the Cosmic Exploration at FFXIV Fan Fest.
It’s hard to determine what exactly this will entail, but we expect to see us travel to different worlds to colonize and create new homes for some of the displaced races and peoples we met at the end of Endwalker. The content doesn’t have a solid release date yet, but keep your eyes peeled to our Patch Schedule for more info.
